Trent Country Park

Truly a wildlife wonderland, with over 430 acres of rolling meadows, an abundance of flora and fauna, babbling brooks, spectacular forests, stunning lakes, and an impressive historical site, Trent Country Park is a not-so-little slice of country heaven just on the outskirts of busy London.

The park offers a host of exciting activities, from horse riding to golfing to wildlife watching. If you’re lucky you might catch a glimpse of pheasants, rabbits, or even adorable Muntjac deer! Cows can be seen grazing in the fields, and see if you can spot all the little molehills made by the nocturnal burrowers in the woods and meadows.

Kidadler Amanda says, "We went to Trent Park today and had a fab time walking through the forest, playing in the playground and then seeing the animals at the Wildlife Rescue and Ambulance Service, which is cheap and simple but lovely too. It's also good to know the money is going to a good cause."

Be sure to ask staff about the story of the ghost of the Earl who has been haunting Camlet Moat in the park since the 12th century!

There are lots of farm animals to see, sheep, Shetland ponies, deer (sometimes), pigs, and lots of birds plus others. There is a playground too. I think it's great for under 5s and it is cheap - £3 per adult and I think under 2s are free. There is car parking in Trent park and then it's a walk through the park to get to the animals (but flat on a path so great for scooters!). I've always liked going there as the money supports the animals and it's quiet and friendly.

Trent park is great, went there last week! There’s also a small wildlife rescue bit (we didn’t check it out), nice playground by the cafe and best of all, free parking!
