The Old Royal Naval College

Make your way over to Sir Christopher Wren's riverside masterpiece and one of London's most popular free attractions.

Kids and adults alike will marvel at the iconic buildings which stand on the site of Greenwich Palace, the Royal Naval Hospital of Seamen and then the Royal Naval College. Make sure you check out the Painted Hall, where you can ascend 60 feet and uncover the secrets of Britain’s largest painted ceiling, as well as the neo-classical Chapel.

Kidadler Hannah recommends Greenwich as a family day out. She started her day at the The Old Royal Naval College. She says, "We started at the royal naval college, a series of beautiful oxbridge style buildings adjacent to the Thames for lovely views, a run around for the kids and a good vantage point to see the boats and river bank (or "beach" as my city dwelling kids termed it!).

"From there it's a short stroll over to the wonderful cutty sark, beautifully restored since its maiden voyage in the nineteenth century."
