The Foundling Museum
Take the kids on a museum trip they won't forget as they discover the intriguing story of the Foundling Hospital and the children who grew up there since 1740. Explore thought-provoking exhibitions, contemporary art commisions, collection displays, historic archives and a programme of concerts, workshops, talks and special events throughout the year in this beautiful 18th-century building.
Kidadler Karen says: "[There's] lots to do and they have kids trails too - my daughter loved it and it was so quiet." Kidadler Nicole adds, it's "an easy day trip out" and suggests looking out for their free workshops throughout the year.
Watch as your children play dress up as characters from the Hospital’s history or follow creative activity trails through the collections. Go around the museum and find out about the hospital as the UK’s first children’s charity with artworks to look at, treasured objects to handle and documents to pore over. With free family workshops and a variety of events and exhibitions, this unique and inspiring museum brings history to life for all ages in a meaningful and poignant way.
