Show Reviews (1)
Escape the city and bring the kids to the beautiful Dunstable Downs. Whether you walk, run, cycle or even bring a kite, it’s a great chance to enjoy scenic views over the Chilterns and plenty of fresh air as a family.
Start your day at the Chilterns Gateway Centre, which gives you all the information you need on local walks and family trails, as well as offering activity packs to help keep kids entertained.
You can also discover the history of the Downs and enjoy a drink or snack to fortify you before your walk. There are lots of events for kids and families throughout the year, including the annual Kite Festival where you’ll be entertained by professional kite teams and experience the thrill of flying for yourselves.
Bring along a picnic to munch on as you take to the hills. Whether you’re a family of kite-flyers or just enjoy a fun day out, a day on the Downs is sure to hit the high notes.

Great day at dunstable downs. Got there at 10..left at 4... Kids could have stayed longer. Didn't complain once. Flew kites, went on a hike. Kids aged 12-1. All we paid for was parking (£3) and picnic.
