What to expect

Signs and Sounds UK is a class for babies to 5-year-olds to have fun learning sign language. The class will include BSL, singing, playing instruments, signed stories and fun. Expect to learn useful signs for communications through well-known songs and nursery rhymes. There will also be a signing puppet making a guest appearance! It's also a great activity to do as a family, and it’s never too late to start learning BSL. And learning sign language is an important step towards creating a more inclusive society for deaf people. What you'll need

  • An instrument that you can find at home! Make a simple shaker from dried beans in a tub or pots and pans for drums. Be creative with what you've got!
  • A strong WiFi connection.

  • You and your kids will have fun learning sign language through singing, playing instruments and signed stories.

Signs and Sounds run classes for babies, children and their parents to learn British Sign Language (BSL). The class includes BSL, singing, playing instruments, signed stories and fun. Rachel takes the classes online and she has been signing for 14 years and has obtained her British Sign Language Level 3 NVQ in 2006. She also leads singing workshops and choirs.
