What to expect

If your kids are missing their dance classes, there are lots of ways to keep learning basic ballet at home. Budding ballerinas will love trained dancer Sarah Du-Feu's perfect live-streamed ballet class. She is teaching kids fundamental ballet moves as well as doing some imaginative play at the same time. With us all being stuck indoors more, Sarah has found a brilliant way to teach her awesome ballet exercises for beginners.

Aimed at kids 5-7 at Primary/Level 1, these sessions are the perfect opportunity to get your child back to the barre. If you've got slightly older kids there's a session for children aged 8+ too, and even one for toddlers if you've got a mini mover and groover at home. As well as being a great workout, The Ballet Coach classes will build self-confidence, creativity and increase physical activity through dance. What will the class entail? Expect a workout that takes the format of typical dance school classes. There will be warmups, imaginative role-play and fun dynamic exercises.

There will be lots of exercises to strengthen your body and Sarah will help you to position yourself correctly for the perfect pile, releve and saute. Plus, there will be shoutouts at the beginning and end of the lesson!

Mum and dad are more than welcome to join in! You will soon discover that ballet builds strength, stamina and balance and lengthens your muscles. So throw on your tutu and find that inner ballerina. The ideal ballet class do do in the comfort of your own home!

  • These are live ballet classes streamed on YouTube and Facebook for your kids aged 5-7. Sarah will teach ballet moves as well as doing some imaginative play.
