Denbighshire is a county situated in north-east Wales and is known to have been inhabited for centuries. Indeed the Pontnewydd Palaeolithic site has Neanderthal remains from a whopping 225,000 years ago! This historical, magical place is home to castles including Denbigh, Bodelwyddan Ruthin, Rhuddlan and Castell Dinas Bran.

As a historical area, with some fabulous surrounding towns, there’s plenty to do in Denbighshire.  Are you looking for things to do in Ruthin? Check out Ruthin Craft Centre offering fantastic activities for kids, or perhaps Ruthin Park so they can run around and let off some steam. Denbighshire leisure is also a great place to make a base for all your activities as it is a centre of culture and sporting activities. Located in north-east Wales, Denbighshire is approximately four hours away from Cardiff by car via the A49 and five and a half hours on the train. From London, Denbighshire is under four and a half hours via M40 and just over four and a half hours via train.
