Year 3 at The Tate Britain

UPDATE: This event is cancelled until further notice owing to COVID-19. We will update you as this changes and you can find more information here.

Year 3 is a brilliant exhibition at the Tate Britain which aims to provide a hopeful portrait of the generation to come. Turner Prize and Oscar winner Steve McQueen is behind the artwork, he invited every Year 3 class in London to have their picture taken in a traditional school portrait to try and capture such a crucial year in these children’s lives. Take your kids along and introduce them to art in an interesting and accessible way.

About the event

We all remember having our photo taken at school but very few, if any, of us can say it ended up on the wall of an art gallery! Year 3 captures thousands of children in a milestone year of their development, from state primaries to faith schools to home-schooled pupils, there are students from all walks of life. The exhibition provides insight and a familiarity that means it appeals to the whole family.
