A vibrant city brimming with culture and heritage, Leicester is found in the county of Leicestershire in the English Midlands. Famous for its diversity, Leicester has the largest Diwali celebrations outside of India. As well as having the largest covered market in Europe, the city is also home to the biggest crisp factory in the world. There’s an array of interesting things to do and see in Leicester city, from inspiring theatre at the Curve Leicester to visiting the National Space Centre. One of the oldest cities in the UK, Leicester’s medieval Guildhall has some of the city’s historical highlights, including the tomb of King Richard III at Leicester Cathedral. Leicester station is situated in the south-east of the city centre and is served by East Midlands Railway. The average train journey from London to Leicester takes 1 hour and 13 minutes, and just under an hour by train from Birmingham.
